Hard to believe another month has passed. Hope to see you all at
Roundtable this Thursday evening at Christ United Methodist on Grelot Rd.
There will be a Kids of the Roundtable room hosted by A. J. Kwitzky for
those that would like to bring kids. A.J. loves homework and would love
it if all your kids brought theirs for him to help :) Or maybe a board
game or 2.

The discussion topic for the Boy Scout side will be "Places to go for
High Adventure". I have several people that have information that they
will be sharing. If you have any information that you would like to
share with the group please bring it.
The owner of the Coleman Camp Store in Foley is supposed to come and
talk about Cub Scout family overnight camping. I'm sure he will bring
gear and share ideas to make your camping trips successful. I understand
he has been involved in Scouting for over 20 years, so I know this
session will be informative. Please attend if you can. You, your son and
your Den or Pack will benefit.

Spanish Trail Districts Webelos Wood program is scheduled for Feb. 27 -
29, 2004. The theme is "Bridge to the Future". To prepare for this
event we have announced a Webelos Wood patch competition. This is open
to all Webelos Scouts in the District. Please announce it to your Packs
and Webelos Den leaders so they can get their boys in on the fun. Bring
your Webelos entries to the December Roundtable for judging.
Patches should include the name of the event, year District, Council and
BSA or fleur de lisle.
I look forward to seeing everyones entry.

I forgot to mention the most exciting part of the competition. The
winning entry will receive a $50.00 savings bond from BankTrust.
Good Luck.

SPECIAL ROUNDTABLE MEETING IN DECEMBER
Our next District Roundtable Meeting will be December 11th. We will start our
Roundtable meeting around the usual time. I know our Roundtable Commissioners
will have a good program planned for their groups. They have been outstanding
for the past several months.
This month however, we are going to have a special time of fellowship and
even a little Christmas party.
HERE'S THE DEAL:
1. We are going to start at 6:00 PM. There will be Christmas cookies, cakes
and other snacks to eat. We will also have soft drinks and punch for your
drinking pleasure. This will be a time for all of us to visit with each other and
share some Holiday cheer. We may also get a visit from our new Council
President, Ray Thompson, who started his rise to the top, in our District. We also
should have several WEBELOS participating in the patch contest.
2. BRING TWO NEW FRIENDS
We are asking that everyone bring two or more leaders or friends that
normally do not attend our Rountable meetings. They might be your Asst. Scoutmaster
or Asst. Cubmaster, new or expirenced Den leaders, Committee members, or anyone
else who is involved or needs to be involved in your program. We want to get
to know them and we want them to get to know us. This will only help your
program and the District program grow. The more people we have involved, the more
we are able to do.
3. I was asked the other day: Who sets the agenda for the Spanish Trail
District? The answer is: YOU DO. Our program is your program. Unit Leaders and
their staff of volunteers greatly influence the programs we try to put on in Our
District. Thanks to each of you for all you do for our BOYS. Our goal is simply
to get more people just like you involved in our program.
Thanks,
Jack
