[Roundtable] Round-up and new year start-ups

Dear Scouters,
I hope the new year is getting off to a great start! As Lloyd Meyers our entergetic DE, and many of our adult volunteers have been conducting Cub Round-ups, I have been impressed with the turn-outs we have seen. It is very important for these new or re-organizing units to have the support they need in order that they may provide the best possible program for these young-men.
Hence, I hereby petition for any adult volunteer to donate any time that they may have to serve as a Unit Commissioner. The time committment is minimual compared to that of a unit leader, Den leader or many other positions which must be filled at the unit level. However, this is a position which is so vitally important to the success of each unit and especially those units who may need some extra help in organizing, training and learning to become a successful scouting program.
Additionally, Troop leaders please forward to me names of any of your scouts who would be willing to serve as Den Chiefs to other units, many of these new and reorganizing Packs are in need of youth assistance, which provides a great way for the older scouts to serve the younger ones. For those names of boys willing to serve, if you have suggestions as to what Cub units your scout may live close to, or have an association with, please also forward such information as well.
We as volunteer leaders must properly balance our time between our families, work and other obligations please save a moment or two along the way for this truely worthy cause.
Lastly, I need a volunteer unit to present the flag cermony for Roundtable in Sept., please consider this an opportunity to get your boys some good experience in front of a "friendly group".
