Dear Scouter's
As the new school year quickly approaches we need to make sure that each unit
has trained leaders so that we can "Deliver the Promise" to each and every youth
under our charge. For you unit leaders, no one has to tell you that it would be
nice to have a "time-stretcher" and more energy to do all the things our busy
lives requires.
I believe that we need more people with fewer responsibilities,
rather than fewer people with more responsibility!
With this practice, each of us could enjoy our service to our future leaders,
the youth, more, and each of the leaders will avoid the "burn-out" problem which
often creeps up.
We need your assistance in recruiting Unit Commissioners to serve throughout
the district. Should you have any parents, "retired" former leaders, friends,
neighbors, community professionals, yourselves, or others who you feel would be good
candidates to serve as a Unit Commissioner please contact me as soon as possible.
It is our desire as a district to support to each unit helping to insure that the unit leaders
receive the training and support to help make your jobs easier and more fun!
Having a functioning, happy, and helpful Unit
Commissioner will help to insure your success as unit leaders by providing you the
additional support to assist you with achieving your goals.
